Compass
The Compass plugin for Google maps allows you to experiment with a new mode of orientation. As in a treasure hunt, it does not perfectly indicate the route to be followed, but gives an indication of the direction. The routes are structured in cooperation with Unesco and allow, according to need, to visit the monuments and places worth seeing of a city in itineraries designed by experts. The mode of travel does not constrain the user to follow the most efficient route and allows him/her to get lost in the city, giving the possibility to discover hidden and native treasures that may not have been identified on the mainstream maps.
The work was intentionally inspired by Guy Debord's theory of drift (Théorie de la dérive, in Les Lèvres nues, no. 9, November 1956, Brussels).
